DETAIL FROM "Finding Hope"

My painting of “Finding Hope” is nearing completion. Some decisions made originally have changed. Painting what is in your mind and heart demands revisits to both. The visual painted on canvas may not translate at first.  So, invention and creativity need to be applied.

The feel of this painting can only be accessed once the painting is finished. The viewer is the judge and not all will share the same find.  There are several visual symbols supporting each other within the structure of the painting.  Sometimes each component alone would make a great painting. I found that to be true in this work. As an example the above Detail from "Finding Hope"

I have added some unique touches. I love discovery and scare my studio partner when I dance around the easel and scream loudly, “Yes, Yes and Yes”, in our normally quiet and productive studio. With this painting I did it twice in one day. I love painting.

This blog is important to me.  It records my objectives, thoughts, and process in creating my art, a vehicle for you to get to know me and I hope it enhances the experience of viewing my work.

Next week I will show you  the completed “Finding Hope”.  In the meantime, I want you to know that my next painting will be called “All Parts Matter”.  The parts I speak about are the part of us that make each of us humans unique.  Its when we are that unique human we were meant to be (and we are the only judge) that we can enjoy us in our journey of life. There are no duplicates.

Stay safe and happy!  AND MY POEM FOR THIS WEEK

HOPE IS NECESSARY

Hope is necessary

If not for hope then why tomorrow

Or the expectation of a new day

Or the adventure of growing up

Hope fuels us to live

To accept the potholes

As we take our journey

With anticipation of the smooth road ahead.

Hope is like the sun that warms

Clouds that ignite the imagination

Rain that quenches

Soft wind the teases skin
